And still able to go up stairs! My knee won't let me do that too much anymore, so I envy Bubbe!

Sorry about the little cactus prick. So glad you got it out and I hope it didn't get infected! What a great lady. And the place sounds especially rockin', frankly. I'd LOVE a night of Jewish folk music...and costume changes? Yowza! :)

Glad to hear the cactus needle came out okay. When my Zaidy died my Bubbe was already living with a lot of widows, so they all helped her to cope.

Lynn: You would love my Bubbe. :-) I wonder what my mother is going to get up to, should we be fortunate enough to have her that long. She has plenty of quirky habits even without dementia. I worry that she's going to be a real handful someday.Sparkling Redhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12799366562472325812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5620546355443994788.post-33512889424728361892013-06-20T14:07:36.764-04:002013-06-20T14:07:36.764-04:00Your Bubbe sounds just lovely. And reading your account of the ASL facility makes me think of my visits to my mom at hers when she was still alive.

She had dementia (but medicated for it), so had a few quirky habits. One was napkin hoarding. One of the dining room attendants said "Here are your extra napkins, Mrs. M." And mom carefully squirreled them away in her rolling walker basket. The other people at her smiled and I smiled back, as if she had always done that. I think when I'm old I'd rather be in an assisted living facility than stuck on my own with the tv and meals on wheels.
