I scream You scream

Yep, it's spring alright.

Condotropolis is abloom.

The weather outside is within a few degress of room temperature, and has been all week. I'm not compelled to bundle up or dress down to go out. The distinction between indoors and outdoors has disappeared. It's almost as though walls and doors have ceased to exist. Everything opens up to everything else.

San has been kind enough to award me a "Big E for Excellent". Thank you so much, San! If you haven't yet been to see San's blog, I urge you to do so. She's got a quirky sense of humour, unexpected turns of creativity, and a positive tone that always gives me the warm'n'fuzzies.

It wasn't so long ago that I gave away some Big E's. However, there are a couple more bloggers who I feel should have a Big E to their name. These are:

Claire at Country Mouse Tails and
Nilsa at SoMi || Learning::Exposing::Sharing

Come on down, ladies, and get your Big E's!

For the first time in 12 years, I have chocolate ice cream in my freezer. (Backstory here.) For twelve years, I pretended not to see the ice cream section of the grocery store. I turned a blind eye to my favourite Baskin Robbins flavours: Jamocha Almond Fudge and Chocolate Mousse Royale. Sometimes I substituted the soy stuff, which wasn't bad, but it's nothing like the real thing. Sorry, Toffuti Cuties - you served me well in my time of need, but now I'm done with you!

I went through the freezer and picked the smallest tub with the shortest list of ingredients. When in doubt, keep it simple.

At home, standing at my kitchen counter, armed with a soup spoon, I dared my first taste. And almost swooned to the floor. Be still my beating heart! Ice cream, you are mine!

I just had a few mouthfuls, as a test, to no ill effect. I feel confident enough to try a full scoop next time. Maybe on a waffle cone. Man, this is going to be a great summer!

Yeah for Spring! It is 80 Degrees here today and I am in heaven. And you know as much as I love ice-cream I never actually have any in my freezer. I need to change that!

Ron: I was eyeing a Ben and Jerry's flavour called Gooey Gobs or something along those lines. I was attracted and repulsed in equal measure by the uninhibited gorpulence.

Keera: Other parts of Canada are still getting snowstorms. I feel sad for them.

Karen: Me too. As soon as I get in my door today, I'm heading straight for my freezer.

Unsigned: I don't get your jokes. But hey, Peace!

1218blog: Ice cream is a good treat to have on hand. It should be a staple in all lactose-tolerant homes. :-)

Jameil: Me too!! Spring makes me want to spread my arms out and twirl when I'm outside.

Maxie: 'Tis the season for ice cream!

Congrats on the award!

And, yes! Spring has arrived, and ice cream shall be consumed!

If the current weather holds up over the weekend, I think we'll even have the first barbeque of the year at the party! How sweet is that?

Nothin like vanilla ice cream in a chocolate dipped waffle cone with rainbow sprinkles. So good! Nice to be back to bloggin and hanging out with all you cool chicks.

R.E.H.: That is super-sweet! Ken fired up our barbeque last night for the first time this season. Ah, the joys of grilled meat...

Conversemomma: Oh my gosh, yes, I want that exact ice-cream cone you just described. The rainbow sprinkles make it perfect. :-)

Yeah, the freakin' ice cream man has been coming around lately, breaking the bank. And it's very hard to pass 7-11 now without going in for a Slurpee...

Mmmm. Jamocha. I don't buy ice cream anymore because it might disappear over night and then mysteriously, I'll have gained a size by morning. I think it might be a coincidence. But just in case...

"almost as though walls and doors have ceased to exist"--I love this line. I want to quote you in my paper.

Nicole: When I woke up this morning (Friday now) the maple trees were in bloom, with little green, sweet-smelling blossoms. Hurray! :-)

Aric Blue: Oh, yes, I do love a Slurpee. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, I live nowhere near a 7-11. But the Bubble Tea shop offers "ice crush" drinks which are almost as good.

Tink: Oh, don't be so superstitious. I'm sure it's just a coincidence. ;-)

Aurora: Thank you! Surely, feel free to quote me anytime. It does my ego a world of good. ;-)

Now, when summer comes too, you can eat ice cream when it is super hot out!
