Can't Wait for Spring

You all heard me complain about how middle age is sneaking up on me.

I'm of two minds when it comes to the concept of age-appropriate clothing. On one hand, I don't want to want to raise eyebrows by dressing too young, especially at work. On the other hand, I don't want to go to the other extreme and bore myself into an early grave with tasteful neutrals.

Just to make sure I still have something fun to wear on the weekends, I went out and bought myself this gear from the teen department. Can't hardly wait for the warm weather so that I can swan around town in my:

... T-shirt with bears camping out in sleeping bags. One of the bears is roasting a marshmallow over the campfire.
And my...

... ballet flat sneakers, which are covered in rainbows, hearts, stars, butterflies, and lightening bolts. Very mature, yes? No? And my...

... short-sleeved, robin's egg blue hoodie, covered in bluebells. You can't see from the photo, but each and every little bluebell blossom has a wee little happy face on it.

I'm only paid to act my age on weekdays. The rest of the time, I plan to regress shamelessly.

Very nice, outfits. If we ever meet someday we will have to coordinate outfits to make sure we don't wear the same thing.

as long as you have no shame... lmao @ ron.

I like the bear that's roasting the marshmallow. He's cleverly positioned his bag closest to the fire and is enjoying a snack at the same time! Smart bear.

I am totally with you on this. Sometimes I feel like I'm 12 in my weekend outfits, but I like them! I have about three pairs of fun sneakers like that, and lots of printed hoodies and t-shirts and such.

Ron: LOL :-) What, don't you think it would be cute if we matched? I think we should do it on purpose.

Leighann: Those sneakers make me want to skip and hula hoop.

Jameil: Shamelessness is a workable fashion policy. No one gets hurt; I get my silly prints; we all go home happy.

Unsigned: He's smart. He's eating in bed, but he's made sure not to create any irritating crumbs. Marshmallows are much better than cookies or potato chips as a bed food.

Nancypearlwannabe: I approve of feeling 12 on weekends. There's more than enough time for being an adult during the week.

Chill, girl. :-) Now that everybody, including the grandfolks, wear jeans and even the same fashions, it's really more about what suits you, not some age. The only thing not to do as you age is keep doing your make-up and hair the exact same way as when you were a teen.

I would totally steal those shoes.

I have about 5 pairs of sneakers like those. So cute and comfy. Perfect with jeans or capris. Love 'em.

Cheers to you! Don't go down without a fight, that's what I say.

That bear t-shirt is so freakin' cute!

Ha ha! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Keera: Good advice! I'm going to take that and run with it.

Jenski: :-) Thanks!

Karen: I only have the one pair so far, but anytime I go past a shoe store I see umpteen more that I could so easily take home with me. There are so many awesome sneakers!

1218blog: Thanks! I tried to eliminate all the cute girliness from my wardrobe, but that just made me depressed. Now it's back to stay. :-)

Aurora: Totally! My plan also includes stuffed animals, popsicles, and acting silly in public. Feel free to join me. :-)

Love the new clothes! You certainly don't have middle age spread.

I hate the transition of getting older when wardrobe is involved because I'm starting to feel awkward in my "younger clothes" at work.

It sucks.
