Dating Personality Profile

A little while ago, whatigotsofar posted the results of his dating personality profile test.

I'm not planning on dating in the forseeable future, but of course I had to know my results. Without further ado...

The Maid of Honor
Deliberate Gentle Love Master (DGLM)

Appreciated for your kindness and envied for all your experience, you are The Maid of Honor.
Charismatic, affectionate, and terrific in relationships, you are what many guys would call a "perfect catch"--and you probably have many admirers, each wishing to capture your long-term love. You're careful, extra careful, because the last thing you want is to hurt anyone. Especially some poor boy whose only crime was liking you.
We've deduced you're fully capable of a dirty fling, but you do feel that post-coital attachment after hooking up. So, conscientious person that you are, you do your best to reserve physical affection for those you respect...so you can respect yourself.
Your biggest negative is the byproduct of your careful nature: indecision. You're just as slow rejecting someone as you are accepting them.

ALWAYS AVOID: The False Messiah (DBLM), The 5-Night Stand (DBSM), The Vapor Trail (RBLM), The Bachelor (DGSM)
CONSIDER: The Gentleman (DGLM), someone just like you.

The full results with pictures are here.

There you have it. Very flattering. I'd like to declare that I'm shocked by the accuracy. I'm a Love Master! This explains why I haven't been single for more than a couple of months since I was 14 years old. Or is it because I've always been terrified of being alone? That's probably closer to the truth. Fortunately I have sufficient charms to attract men without much difficulty. Then I hang on to them for dear life. Ken's the first one to consistently deserve the amount of devotion he gets from me.

My first boyfriend barely counts (poor guy). He was in grade 13 and I was in grade 9. He asked me to the prom because he was such a geek that none of the older girls would give him the time of day. I didn't like him all that much, but I sure did like the idea of going to the prom. He had sweaty hands. He kissed me once, but I wasn't into him. After the prom we went our separate ways.

That means that I've had 3 serious relationships, spanning the past 20 years. Call me Ms. Long-Term Commitment. It's a testament the the strength of my co-dependency.

The link to the test is up there, embedded into the results. Go ahead, take it! You know you want to. And I want to know your results!

Incidentally, my mother now has a brand new iMac sitting in a box in her study, all ready to be plugged in next week. The internet won't be hooked up for a few days yet. Our outing was successful and uneventful enough to be almost unblogworthy. There was one moment of panic, when my mom lost grip on her side of the printer box, and almost dropped it on the driveway. However, her cat-like reflexes prevailed, and with a bit of wrangling we got all the boxes safely inside.

Now we just have to figure out a way of hiding the cables so that the good-for-nothin' cats don't get it into their fool heads to chew through them once it's all set up.

i'm sonnet which like almost every other quiz i've ever taken, is almost laughably inaccurate. the questions i feel most strongly about never have the right answer choices which means i end up with something assinine like calling me a romantic. i like romance a bit but a sonnet? i think we all know that's ridiculous. but my fave question "What if it were 10,000 people who had to die? me or all of them" HILARIOUS!! i was crackin up. to be so selfish is remarkable! what the heck is grade 13? do you count kindergarten as grade 1? is grade 13 the last thing before college? count me perplexed.

Ron: According to your results, Jameil and I are both your ideal types. We'll have to arm-wrestle for you.
;-)

Jameil: In Canada, up until around 6 years ago, there was such a thing as grade 13. We had an extra year of school after grade twelve, to do what was called the OAC (Ontario Academic Credit) level of study. Then it was cut, probably to save money, and there was a year where the last Grade 13 kids graduated at the same time as all the Grade 12 kids, and the universities had a hard time dealing with the double lot of graduates. Crazy, eh?

I haven't taken the quiz yet I am being lazy. But I will and I'll let you know my results. I have to say I was confused by the 13th grade as well. I would die if I had to do another year of school. Glad they got rid of that!

You had said that you went to Yorkdale (I think, can't be bother to read old post to verify) to get the computer and have nothing blog worthy to write about. I find that weird because for some reason, I always have something I deem blog worthy after visiting Yorkdale. It just seems as though something funny, weird, infuriating happens each time I'm there.

Oh, and that grade 13 thing jameil, it was an optional fifth year of high school. Theoretically, a student could fast track high school and complete the fifth year in four years by taking g11 classes in g10 and g12 classes in c11 and OAC(g13) classes in g12. But yeah, its gone now.

Nice. I love random quizzes like this. I'm forever cluttering up my facebook with them!

Wouldn't that of just sucked if your mom wasn't able to grab it fast enough. I think she would have been alittle pissed :D

lol is there really such a thing as a 5 night stand?

Anyone who has sweaty hands should have them chopped off or be forced to wear gloves all the time.

1218blog: Yeah, by the fifth year of high school I was really ready to get the heck out of there. On the other hand, my high school was excellent, and in hindsight, I'm glad I got the extra free learnin' while I had the chance.

Whatigotsofar: For sure, Yorkdale is a prime place to see or experience blogworthy material. This was a very focused trip - we basically got there as soon as the mall opened, made a beeline to the Apple store, bought the iMac, and then went straight back out to the car. We didn't stick around to have a full "Yorkdale Experience".

Claire: You might want to check out Ron's blog. He posted links to around a dozen such quizzes today. I haven't taken the others yet but they look like fun. ;-)

Pixie Von Azia: I've never heard of a 5-night stand before, but it could catch on.

Unsigned: I'm glad that you're not actually in charge of these things.

All: By the way, I just realized that the code I dropped into my post to show the results was cutting off the right side of the text. It looked fine in the preview. Anyway, I re-jigged it so it's all legible now.

I am The Sonnet.

Ah, yes, Grade 13 - we always thought you Ontarians were very strange for that one. I'm sure all the Grade 12s were thrilled when they got rid of that one.

Ooh, those slippery moments with boxes are always scary. I have seen some nasty papercuts from boxes, too!

Aric Blue said...

Jut so you know, I'm a Random Brutal Man Child or something like that.

Sweet!

Savia: At the time, I don't think any of us were aware that Grade 13 was an oddity. The further it fades into the past, the more it will be a bizarre anachronism, like penny-wheeler bicycles, bustles, and spats.

Aurora: I saw a guy almost break a rib to save a CRT monitor. He was carrying it from a moving truck, slipped on ice, and threw his body under the monitor to cushion it as they both fell onto a concrete driveway. Ouch!

Aric Blue: Random Brutal Man Child would be a killer name for a metal band. I love it!

"A testament to the strength of your co-dependency." I laugh. I know you're joking. Kind of. It does, however, remind me a bit of myself. I've always been hooked up. Currently for 22, count 'em, years.

I am also a Maid of Honor! Funny how a "perfect catch" is still single. I guess I have too much of something else. :)

San: We're lucky to have found people we enjoy sharing our lives with. If some might call me "co-dependent" by today's standards, I'm not too bothered by it. ;-)

Jenski: I did think it was odd that this type was named Maid of Honour and not Blushing Bride. Maybe you just haven't found your Knight In Shining Armour yet. :-)
